Why do I need a 3D printer?
This is perhaps the first question people ask when they find out I have a 3D printer.
Initially, of course, everyone prints useless (well, almost) figurines. But once all the toys have been printed, an engineer will find where to apply the printer.
Here's an example from the automotive theme:
My friend has a Hyundai Elantra, in which the door limiters broke — those are small plastic pieces (I honestly borrowed the photo here):
This costs ~7$ (for 4 pieces). Although it seems, just a piece of plastic. Well, we take some CAD system, caliper and a printer:

The cost of plastic for the printer is ~10$ / kg The weight of one such part is 2.5 grams, i.e., the set took 10 grams, you can calculate the cost of the part yourself.
The parts fit as if they were original, no problems.
If you don't have a printer — there are plenty of enthusiasts (I'm not one of them) who will help with printing and modeling, the cost on specialized resources is approximately 0.1$ / gram (in Russia).
Uploaded the model file to thingiverse, you can print it at the nearest 3D printing office.
According to the directories, the part fits the following part numbers: 79390-0D000, 79380-0D000, 79490-0D000, 79480-0D000, 79480-2H000, 79490-2H000, 79380-2H000, 79390-2H000.
